i cracked open the original samsung qi wireless back and attach the qi receiver to the flip wallet back, anyone is interested in more details please let me know

I would love if you could go over the steps on how you lot integrated the receiver into the flip cover. In the video I meet the flip wallet clock yet works since it’s tied to the magnet in the embrace, not the back comprehend contacts (got creative with the Gear Circle to test this). Does NFC piece of work correctly?

I have a wireless charging dorsum for my note iii, can I utilise that?
Very interested in this answer. Would be a good dolar savings to reuse the innards and would be a great combo with the leather instance (like the video.).

1. NFC works perfectly
2. Crave the original annotation border qi receiver (from the original case as there is no 3rd political party qi receiver out there yet) as yous tin see below the qi receiver connectors demand to match the phone’s terminals (i.e. the L shaped below the sd menu slot and the one above the bombardment

1. this is how the original example looks like (pic1)
2. use a knife to start peachy the four corners and then sides of the plastic piece in the middle which has the qi receiver attached underneath and this is how it looks subsequently detaching it from the case (of course the qi receiver should be there too just mine is already glued to my flip wallet now) (pic2)
three. you lot should fine the qi receiver is glued to the plastic piece (the left one in pic2) merely can be removed easily (with intendance besides!) by hand
four. on the flip wallet you lot should see a scrap attached to information technology (pic3) please make sure that is removed before attaching the qi receiver on information technology as ane of the qi connectors is at the aforementioned spot so without removing the chip on the flip wallet you tin can’t adhere your phone properly to the wallet
5. later removing the fleck, place the qi receiver on the flip wallet at the aforementioned positions as where the connectors should be touching the phone’south terminals (pic4)
6. DONE!
NFC works, wireless charging works and edge panel responds to the flip wallet cover! do it at your own risk but it is pretty straight frontward!

and regarding steps, unfortunately i did not have video or pix while peachy open up the original instance and attaching to the flip wallet but i”ll effort my best to explain here1. this is how the original example looks like (pic1)
2. apply a pocketknife to beginning cracking the 4 corners then sides of the plastic piece in the middle which has the qi receiver fastened underneath and this is how it looks after detaching it from the case (of course the qi receiver should exist there too merely mine is already glued to my flip wallet at present) (pic2)
iii. yous should fine the qi receiver is glued to the plastic piece (the left 1 in pic2) but tin be removed easily (with care also!) past mitt
four. on the flip wallet you lot should encounter a bit fastened to it (pic3) please make sure that is removed earlier attaching the qi receiver on it as one of the qi connectors is at the same spot so without removing the chip on the flip wallet you lot tin can’t attach your phone properly to the wallet
5. later removing the chip, place the qi receiver on the flip wallet at the same positions as where the connectors should be touching the phone’s terminals (pic4)

No that is original Qi back for Edge. Note 4 terminals are in different place. You can get that from Korea. Or eBay for $37+$xix shipping.

that is correct, note iv has different terminals than notation edge. and for your information, i have checked with ii companies which manufactures 3rd party qi receivers for samsung phones both said they do not have plan yet on making one for edge (gauge from profit perspective border is a express production telephone) and that is why i went ahead to DIY one using the original annotation edge qi example

From the pictures information technology looks similar he used a type of frabic tape.
I’m certain he will chime in with that he did.
I idea nearly doing this from the get-go , I don’t like the thickness of the charging backs. So I was going to rip the guts out and put in on the OEM back.
Simply that’south alot of money just to rip it autonomously.
I had the thin small pad for my Note 3 and it only price about $10. Then I think I’ll wait on the note edge buntil they become the thin pads aslo.

Can this be washed to the original backing that comes with the note edge so that I can accept Qi with the elementary backing and no extra thickness

Just to be clear this mod was done from an Edge Qi back encompass to a waller case back comprehend. Im guessing to avoid the actress thickness added by the Qi backing.
Tin this be washed to the original bankroll that comes with the notation edge then that I tin have Qi with the simple bankroll and no extra thickness
Aye that works, I have done that for 1 of my friends who complained the qi cover is too thick

This could be a quick and easy way to do this whole modernistic but I think I desire to go on the ability to use the usb port in case I need quickcharge or employ the port for mass storage.
As well does anyone know what amperage the OEM example allow. Crusade I saw that Samsung official Qi chargers are 2amp but most merely deliver 1amp from what i know.

note edge tin handle 1700 ma so receiver get hot;
Solutions: used usb charger under 1000ma or connect two wireless receiver in parallel fashion. (1 up and 1 down; coils are centre and symmetric).

On lesser Fifty sharp pins; pivot of inside is + 5v and pivot of out side is ground. you can mod samsung s5 wireless charger receiver to install. (pin of wireless charger receiver s5 is opposite compare to note edge). and so i trip off plastic encompass of receiver and pull up pcb sidedown to made compatible pins .
