Thank you for the reply.  Each figurer sees the other as a fellow member of the Homegroup.  Just neither printer volition notice any printers when using the Add together a Printer wizard, not even printers which are fastened to the computer by USB or LPT1.  This makes no sense.

So, in the endeavor to become the computer to recognize a printer that is attached, I ended up with iv copies of the printer driver.  I cannot delete the extra copies, even when the I delete the printer in Devices & Printers and then use the printui utility.  Fifty-fifty though the printer is deleted after immigration all documents sent to it, the printui utility will not let me delete the printer by saying that it is in use.

I tin can browse other Homegroup computers and prepare up printers that style, merely it seems that Windows x is non equally advanced as Windows seven in adding and deleting printers.

How do I delete the extra copies of the printer drivers?

Thanks for the answer, only information technology doesn’t address the problem.  None of the printers accept drivers which show up in Programs.  Plainly, I have 3 copies of the HP LaserJet 6 driver installed.  1 only shows up in Devices and Printers, but three testify up on a Homegroup computer.  Is in that location no way to delete the extra copies of these drivers?

I take the aforementioned trouble KennethBush.  Under the NETWORK folder I see three actress printers none of which I can delete.  I can open one of these to run into what is printing but two give me the same error every bit I get when trying to install the printer of aforementioned proper name that is located on my home network.  I get the idea that my estimator is using that driver or whatever we may telephone call information technology to connect to the network printer but since its contaminated information technology fails.  Y’all tin can UNHIDE hidden drivers within the device manager but even doing that does not show these.  It just shows printers that yous installed at some point but that device is currently not connected.  Once connected those are no longer hidden.

KennethBush,

I was unable to find a means of deleting the erroneous HOMEGROUP drivers however, I was able to resolve my result.  I just changed the proper noun of the shared PRINTER and rebooted my desktop.  My laptop immediately recognized the new shared printer and loaded the driver.  I didn’t take to touch a thing.

In an effort to remove the one-time conflicting driver of aforementioned name, I removed the laptop from the network and then rejoined.  Unfortunately that did not eliminate the commuter existence shown in the NETWORK folder.

In closure, MS should offer a tool to flush the homegroup devices / drivers and allow them to exist reconstituted upon joining.
