Yes I tried all the ports, I used the hard bulldoze cable to connect my phone to the laptop and windows explorer detected my phone immediately.
I and so plugged the hard drive in my work laptop which I normally do to exchange work docs and aforementioned thing, my laptop couldn’t discover it.
The night prior to updating the software awarding, I used the hard drive to scout a movie via connecting it to my smart tv – no bug.
And so I figured to await when I can see a technician (if need be). The tv set was able to notice the Hd, but unfortunately it displayed ‘no file’! Aaaaaargh, even the set up folders that were already stored in the Hard disk when I purchased it has disappeared.
As I plug the HD into the port information technology notwithstanding makes the audio of an external source being plugged in and can hither it going through all the checks ie, disk drive etc, just windows explorer didn’t automatically pop up like information technology normally does hence how I came beyond the upshot.
I simply ran the diagnostic tool and detected the HD with a PASS. Am very worried now equally under CAPACITY it displays 1000gb meaning everything has been wiped. All my girl’south baby photos and domicile videos gone.
The Hard disk drive worked fine prior to the upgrade :(:(:(:(
Please tell me you have more options to test?????

Sounds to me that when you plugged the Hard disk into the TV that it formatted it for use as a recording device (for freeview timeshift & live rewind).
You could attempt recuva from Piriform,https://www.piriform.com/recuva to try & recover the lost files.

The WD DLG shows the total capacity of the drive, non the remaining free one so this doesn’t mean the data is gone.
Could you please navigate to
