Re: Westward: Possible missing firmware
Yes, you will go these messages.
The outcome is that Ubuntu is lagging backside what the Kernel wants for firmware versions.
Notation that is doesn’t matter unless you actually take one of those Intel processors (Kaby Lake or Heaven Lake or the other one I tin can non recollect the name), otherwise you tin can ignore the warnings.
You might also find other references with an obsolete link to where to get the firmware, because Intel changed it a few months ago.
see besides
hither
(which has the proper link).Whatever follow-up data on your issue would be appreciated. Please have the courtesy to report back.

Re: West: Possible missing firmware
Thank you Doug Southward,
I don’t really know how to check if my organization’s using one of those intel microarchitectures. I read the link, it outlined the two you lot mentioned and a third Broxton.
I guess I’yard merely going to ignore this warning like you said. TY

Re: W: Possible missing firmware
Do this:
Code:
$ true cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep "model name" model name : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @ three.40GHz model proper name : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @ iii.40GHz model proper noun : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz model name : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @ three.40GHz model name : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz model proper name : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz model proper noun : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @ three.40GHz model proper noun : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @ iii.40GHz
My processor is relatively old, I think its Intel marketing name was Sandy Bridge or something, only
NOT
1 I take to worry about in terms of those warning messages.Any follow-up information on your upshot would be appreciated. Please accept the courtesy to report back.

Re: W: Possible missing firmware
Thank you Doug.
No, not that. I do know my processor is Core i5 with a clock-speed of 2.67GHz. I was actually asking if in that location was a way to bank check my
Processor Codename, similar you lot said,
I think its Intel marketing name was
Sandy Bridge
or something…Sad if this is getting lengthy. I’m merely trying to become my head around this matter.

Re: W: Possible missing firmware
I don’t know how open you are to visiting the Intel site,
http://ark.intel.com/#@Processors, but y’all tin find the code name of your CPU in that location if y’all know the model number, ie i5-6300Last edited by him610; September seventh, 2017 at

Re: W: Possible missing firmware
Well, my plan was to decode information technology for you based on the model number, but I come across now that him610 gave a link to the decoder folio (which I didn’t previously know near).
Anyway, for example:
i5-6??? is Sky Lake, Abbreviation skl
i5-seven??? is Kaby Lake, Abbreviation kbl
Broxton, I don’t know.Final edited past Doug Due south; September 7th, 2017 at
