The previous touchpad settings are reset or cleared when the Synaptics Touchpad legacy driver is updated. This occurs after the Synaptics driver is downloaded and installed through Windows Updates.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, perform the following procedures:

Procedure i: Confirm the Synaptics driver is
xix.5.35.41
(or afterwards).

Open
Device Managing director.
Scroll downward and expand
Mice and other pointing devices > Synaptics Touchpad.
Correct-click on Synaptics Touchpad and select
Properties.
Select the
Driver
tab.
Confirm the Synaptics commuter is 19.v.35.41 (or later).

Synaptics Touchpad in Device Director.

Enter your HP calculator product proper name and model number.
Click
Observe.
Select
Software and Driver Downloads.
Expand
Driver-Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices.
Download and install the latest Synaptics Touchpad driver (a restart may exist required).

Process iii: Customize touchpad settings:

Open up the Synaptics TouchPad app in one case the driver installation is consummate.
On the Device Settings folio, click
Settings.
Customize your preferred touchpad settings on the Backdrop for Synaptics Touchpad folio.
Click
OK.
