How to upgrade the firmware on your Q500 Draft

Firstly, you’ll need to make sure you accept the latest USB drivers installed. Y’all can get them from

. Once downloaded, install them and then restart your PC / Laptop.

On the Q500. Remove the battery (If installed) and locate the cable on the top correct of the chassis. This is the receiver cable. Use the tweezers to aid y’all pull them out gently. Once the cablevision is safely out, disconnect the connector (This is for the receiver)

Locate the USB Configuration tool which shipped with your Yuneec Q500 Typhoon. Remove the Gimble extension cable from the end. Plug the cable into the Receiver socket going to the Q500 Flight controller.

Gently and carefully re-insert the Q500 Battery pack, ensuring you practise not catch or snag the cable in the procedure. Once the battery is in and the USB cable is connected to your computer, load up the GUI application.

Power on the Yuneec Q500. Yous should now encounter diagnostics of your Q500. Locate the firmware selection on the top left of the master GUI window and select firmware update. The software should either automatically locate your downloaded firmware file or you will demand to search for it. One time located, click begin firmware update.

Information technology would be dainty if they put a sticker on the box or the units indicating the firmware. I’m reading about some people having troubles after using the gui connexion.

Some people posted on RC forum (I tried to join simply can’t get the log in to piece of work) that they disconnected the GPS while fishing out the cable. Some other reported that his quad stopped functioning properly afterward connecting. Non sure what the issue was there.

Not a agglomeration of issues but if there isn’t a reason to connect I’d rather non. Checking firmware out of the box doesn’t seem like a skillful reason since it’south caused some people issues.
I have the Q500+ and am upgrading to the CGO3 camera when its available in a few weeks. Question… Is there a firmware upgrade for the ST10 Controller that volition allow me to change the White remainder and other settings that the new 4K kit offers? Comments appreciated.

I believe that once you bind the st10 to the CGO3 you will and so have to select the camera and y’all should get the same menu as the 4k st10

My Q500+ has a sticker on the lesser of the Q that lists the firmware version. I have since upgraded it though.
When you mention this i cringe! Strange maybe a coincidence but my GPS problem “Lost GPS Lock: On Transmission flying Way, developed later a firmware and connection to the GUI although everything is testing ok through the GUI.
Don’t know what I have done wrong, first it worked perfectly merely when I downloaded that GUI and Firmware, next time GUI software simply couldnt find my drone anymore, so i reseted my ST10+ to manufactory setting. At present i tin can’t bind anymore my Q5004k, it only detect the camera and can’t do those first time setting because in that location arent flashing blue lights, but solid red on dorsum and solid white front. principal LED is solid red. Then can’t bind and GUI dont discover my aeroplane anymore, tin’t do anything anymore :/ can this be fixed? lamentable my bad english language.

No that video wont help me on this, i know already how to bind only it wont work if the lights dont flash. They are solid. But thanks anyway.

Hook it up to the GUI and look at the Device Information Tab and it will display what firmware you have.
What about the st10 n updating that

Afterwards one year I’m still wondering why Yunnec din’t made a USB port in the external torso.
I never see such archaic system of looking for a wire in the interior which is used for other things and we have to disconnected him to connect to the USB dongle.
I’ts hilarian when I meet movies or comments proverb ” Exist carefull ! But that wire not the GSP wire”.
OK ! For a comum mortal how I tin can see that in the dark and small place ? Mine can have such wire at first view only others Q tin have both more visible. WHY not a USB port on the quad ?
Is the 1st quad I see with such connecting arrangement. Yuneec, wake up please ! Be diferente but in other aspects.
