Modoru is a plugin that allows the PS Vita to downgrade to the everyman factory firmware version. This guide volition show users how to downgrade their PS Vita to a lower official firmware. Information technology is recommended to downgrade to firmware 3.60 because information technology is easier to install ENSO on 3.60. However, PS Vita that are fairly brand new may not be able to downgrade below 3.67.  After downgrading,
you will demand to hack your Vita again.

Files and Programs Needed

Make sure you Enable Dangerous Homebrew in HENkaku Settings.

Footstep one: Download all Files.



  • Download
    Modoru 2.0 or higher
    and the firmware of your choosing.

    • Note: Make sure Modoru is at least version ii.0 or college (this is very of import, the ii.0+ versions added back up to downgrade from 3.73).
    • Non all Vita tin can be downgraded to 3.threescore or 3.65. If your Vita was created in 2018 or beyond start with 3.65.

Footstep 2: Utilize VitaShell to Transfer Files.



  • Back on your Vita, launchVitashell, printing Get-go and modify “SELECT button” toUSB.
  • Press
    O
    to cancel main settings and so pressselect
    to connect your Vita to your PC.
  • Transfer the files into any folder that just popped upwards (I created a folder called VPK).

Footstep 3:Use VitaShell to Install Files.



  • Once the files are washed transferring, press
    X
    on the modoru.vpk file to install information technology.
  • Press
    X
    twice to confirm
    Yesfor both pop ups.

Step 4: Move PSP2UPDAT.PUP.



  • Highlight
    PSP2UPDAT.PUP
    and press
    Triangle
    so
    Re-create.
  • Printing
    O
    to go back and and so to
    ux0:app/MODORU000    .
  • While in
    ux0:app/MODORU000, highlight the
    ..then printing
    Triangle
    so
    Paste.

Stride 5: Rename or Delete Tai Folder.

  • You have to disable all your plugins in order to apply
    Modoru.
  • To practise so:
    1. If you have not installed any other plugins or hacks, yous can delete the ux0:tai folder.
    2. Moved on to step 6.
    3. If you installed hacks that you want to transfer over (Vitashell/H-encore practise not count) then get to pace 5B beneath.

Step 5B: Transferring Previous Hacks.




  • If you have some hacks/apps that you lot installed and would like to transfer over after the downgrade:
  • Rename the
    t
    ai
    folder to anything other than
    tai
    (I renamed information technology “T” in my example.)

      • Rename the tai binder that contains all your hacks/plugins, in my instance it was
        ur0:tai
        but yours could be
        ux0:tai.
      • If you lot have 2 tai folders, rename the binder that contains your hacks/plugins and delete the other tai folder.

Step vi: Unlink Retentiveness Card.



This step is not necessary if you are not using a retentivity card.

  • Go out to the Home screen/Settings/Henkaku Settings.
  • Click on the
    UnLink Memory Carte.
  • Click on the
    Reboot Device.

Step 7: Relaunch H-Encore.



  • One time on, the Vita should
    update the database
    and then return to the domicile screen.
  • Become to
    H-Encore
    and then
    Install HENkaku.
  • Printing
    X
    on
    Exit.

Step 8: Enable Unsafe Homebrew.

  • Get to
    Settings/HENkaku Settings
    and press
    X
    on “Enable Unsafe Homebrew.”

Stride 9: Launch Modoru.



  • Whorl down to the
    Modoru
    icon and press Ten to launch it.
  • Press
    Ten
    to confirm and wait twenty seconds.
  • Press
    X
    to accept the terms and begin the installation.
    Annotation: If y’all are getting “Error 0x80010002 opening ux0:app/MODORU000/PSP2UPDAT.PUP” it means your Vita is too new and tin can’t use that firmware. Download the next highest firmware and echo step 4.

Pace ten: Update.



  • Modoru
    should so close out and a green
    System Update
    screen volition appear.
  • Look for the update to finish and go to
    settings
    and
    system information
    to see your new firmware.

*At present that you lot downgraded, you have to hack your Vita again (install Henkaku).
