|

|
Hello all….I was trying to revert my WRT54G v5 to VxWorks and I am stuck. I had DD-WRT running quite well and had the chance to get a complimentary v4 router that i wanted to try. So I was going to revert this one back. After I ran the “openwrt-wrt54g_v4-squashfs.bin” file succesfully and I am now dorsum to the Direction style. When I run the current Linksys firmware as instructed it gives me the bulletin “Update Successful”, but after waiting an hour to see if router is back to Linksys firmware, everytime I try to log in to 192.168.1.1 I even so go the direction style.
The router’southward power light is blinking and all other lights are off except the Ethernet port i low-cal which is where my PC is hooked up?
Can yous help me figure out where I am going wrong….my router isn’t bricked is it? Let me know if you lot need more info.
Thanks,
Nuschool33

You do demand to ability bicycle later on applying the existent linksys firmware, if the instructions say not to I need to update them. The problem was people ability cycling too quick afterward TFTP, so I had to add together those warnings in for that.
You might want to try unplugging the ability cord, holding downwardly the reset button on the back of the router, pluggin the power cord in (button all the same held), release push button, unplug power again, plug it back in (button not pressed). Lol, that sounds crazy equally hell ;p. The idea is to become it to reset the config..

What web browser are you using? Though that shouldn’t be the problem. If the flash reported success, I dunno what’s going on.

i had the same problem as you, I wanted to revert to the original firmware to become my mac accost working with ddwrt so Itried to wink the linksys original firmware and got upgrade success, but after rebooting the router im dorsum into management style.
It eventually worked, and I dont really know how it worked. I just kept trying and eventually the router rebooted itself and was back to the original firmware.

I but went to the management folio uploaded the firmware, so when I got the ‘Success’ screen i went to 192.168.1.ane, of course it was still in direction mode, and so I uploaded it once again. I repeated this process about v times before it worked.
I also recall having this problem a couple of months ago manner before DDWRT was even running on v5’s, when I upgraded the linksys firmware so I dont call back this problem is because of the VXworks->Linux process.

Is in that location a difference betwixt the Linux and VxWorks management mode? Do they both await the same? I want to brand sure that I am flashing from the correct management mode if that is fifty-fifty an outcome?
Thank you

There is only i management mode, and its with the VxWorks BSP. So y’all are at the right place and VxWorks is gear up to rock and roll. I don’t know what the problem is, merely you lot might try that the previous poster suggested and keep flashing the firmware over and over (without rebooting). Even after yous flash the firmware, the direction manner will yet be active, so y’all tin immediately flash information technology again.
