Complete guide to install Android xi on your Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 (Snapdragon).
This tutorial only applies to this model, to check the correct version:
in Android, go to Settings > About phone, make sure Device model is Redmi Note four.
It must be Snapdragon: below Device model, CPU must be Octa-core Max 2.0Ghz

two) INSTALL DRIVERS
Go to the folder you lot unzipped before.
navigate to usb_driver_r13-windows > usb_driver.
Correct click on android_winusb.inf and select Install. Ostend with OK.

three) BACKUP YOUR DATA

Enter Sim PIN and turn off wifi, turn on mobile data and sync.
Become to Settings > Mi Account
Enter your telephone number adjusted to prefix and create an account (if not yet done).
Make sure phone Mi Business relationship is active, in Settings, too Mi account is written an identifier.
Go to Settings > Additional settings > Developer options and ringlet to Mi Unlock Status item.
Permission required, Concord
### Make sure Wifi is off and mobile information on, then tap on Add account and device, then Got it.
### As written, don’t sign out of Mi account, perform manufactory reset or erase system data for now.
### Keep calm and carry on.
Now open the \Mi Unlock subfolder from my pack.
Launch miflash_unlock.exe ad ambassador: correct click on .exe > Run as administrator
Agree to terms.
Login to your Mi account (with telephone number prefixed or email)
Confirm login with SMS verification.
### Culling: Open this webpage from your PC:

### Click on Unlock now, then Download Mi Unlock archive. Unzip and refer to previous steps.
Dorsum to phone, turn it off.
Then hold Volume down + Power buttons until phone vibrates and displays Fastboot screen.
Connect phone to USB.
Back to PC, Mi Unlock at present says “Phone connected”.
Unlock push is bachelor, click on it and confirm with Unlock anyway.
Wait until Unlocked successfully is displayed.
Click on Reboot telephone.
Unlocked is written at the lesser of screen during boot.
### Demand to quit Fastboot mode ? Concord Power until telephone vibrates and restarts.
5) Wink TWRP RECOVERY
Dorsum to Android, become to Settings > Boosted settings > Developer options,
switch OEM unlocking ON and USB debugging ON.
Connect telephone to PC.
Open a Windows command prompt on the /wink subfolder folder you unziped earlier:
select folder with left click, right click while holding SHIFT on keyboard > Open up command windows hither
In command, enter
Commands starts adb and returns: bfacf0c80104 unauthorized
On the phone, Let USB debugging and send command again.
Command now returns: bfacf0c80104 device
Now enter Phone restarts in bootloader/fastboot mode.
Enter
Command returns: bfacf0c80104 fastboot
### If not, you may try to reinstall USB drivers or try another PC.
At present enter
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.5.2_9-0-mido.img
Command returns: Finished. Total time: 1.540s
Now enter
fastboot boot twrp-3.5.2_9-0-mido.img
and expect while TWRP recovery boots.
TWRP asks: Decrypt data, tap on Cancel.
so Swipe to Let Modifications.
Leave telephone connected to PC.
Nosotros must remove encryption to access partitions.
From TWRP Home screen, become to Wipe > Format Data. This will remove all data on telephone.

6) Fill-in Organisation
Now go to Abode screen > Backup.
Select Organization, Vendor, Kick, Bootloader, Firmware and EFS partitions.

Using Windows Explorer, access Redmi Notation iv and copy the TWRP folder from Internal Storage folder to somewhere safe.
Then copy OrangeFox and LineageOS 17.ane to the same phone’s Internal Storage folder.
7) Wink ORANGEFOX RECOVERY
Now become to Home screen > Install
Select OrangeFox*.zilch and Swipe to confirm Flash, recovery will auto-reboot.
eight) Flash LINEAGEOS 17.ane

I already unlocked bootloader with another tutorial and for now I volition leave the device on the last stock firmware. Merely I already tested magisk. It’s very new to me. The terminal phone I flashed is some years ago and I only knew SuperSU.

Also I wondered when I looked up the partitions to backup. There are 15 (!?) partitions (Pics attached). Yous are writing, that following partitions have to be backed upwardly: System, Vendor, Boot, Bootloader, Firmware and EFS partitions.
When I flash lineage and then want to become back, tin can I simply restore the partitions? What happens to the other partitions when I flash a rom? Will they be deleted? Some years ago a phone just had 4 or five partitions…
