I bought the note 9 directly from Samsung and it was a T-mobile version. I just switched to Verizon only I can’t use the note 9 because information technology’s locked to T-mobile. I’ve called T-mobile multiple times and they said i have to do it through the app merely the app keeps telling me that the unlock has failed. I have also called samsung countless times and they told me that the Note ix that i purchased was designed to be used for T-mobile and in that location is no unlocking information technology. I incertitude that this is truthful. What are my options here? Can i wink the unlocked firmware if then, where can i find information technology? Cheers in advance for the help.

I reached out to both of them. Samsung did non practice sh*t. They said they can’t practice annihilation since it was designed to piece of work with T-mobile only. I don’t buy that. It’south same hardware so there has to be a manner to flash it.

Well flashing it may not remove the SIM lock. But if you can’t get resolved so I propose you become a lawyer and come across where information technology goes.

I pretty sure a T-Mobile Note 9 volition non work on Verizon due to the frequencies being different and each phone take different radio software that includes specific hardware. The just telephone I am aware of that runs on both is the Pixel.Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
Oh really? that really sucks! so it’southward a brick at this point

If I’m correct, information technology’s a brick to you but a great device for someone who wants to exist on T-Mobile…..again if I’m correct.Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
It’s a pain to go through eBay ugh. It sucks because i think i’ve just used this phone for about two days so it’s pretty much brand new.

I have tried throwing Verizon sim carte du jour in there. It says locked. So i’m confused past the tweet, does that mean that it will work on verizon? should i flash the verizon rom?

The installation of a specific carrier rom will unlock the modem to allow it to work on a given carriers network. Merely do your enquiry earlier you start flashing roms.

Well, i know how to flash roms and how odin works. So should I root it and flash Verizon’s rom?
Rooting the device has nothing to practise with flashing a dissimilar carrier’s rom.

I’m pretty sure this statement is inaccurate. Equally far as I know, all N960U carrier models (i.e. Verizon, TMobile, ATT, etc) have the aforementioned hardware.

Flashing a unlike firmware volition exercise admittedly nothing for the SIM Lock situation.
Also,if you lot’re currently on a temporary unlock, that may exist holding things upward as well.
Typically,T-Mobile has a xl 24-hour interval menstruation to where you need for the phone to be active on their network before they volition grant a SIM Unlock, non sure if this applies to devices bought directly from Samsung, only,it nonetheless could be why you’re having issues.
You have two options:
1) Go along contacting T-Mobile regarding the issue,be prepared to show ’em your receipt/etc… proving you’ve bought the phone from Samsung & that it is indeed paid off. Call during typical function hrs on weekdays to ensure y’all get your former regional “Squad Of Experts”,I’ve establish T-Mo’south Customer Care has greatly improved since they went this route.
2) Use a paid device unlock service & make sure what you buy is T-Mobile Note 9 specific.
Annihilation else will not work. Google is your friend, equally well as searching here in the Note 9 forums for services that have been recommended by the membership here.
Stay on the T-Mobile firmware until the device is permanently unlocked,I’m not sure that side-loading the device unlock .apk will work on non-T-Mobile firmware.
Depending on the method of payment you used, yous may have some buyer protection regarding a return/refund,merely,I’d use that as a final resort if afterwards a week or then yous get no results.
