So I tried to update the firmware, it said to disconnect and reconnect the mouse.
Tried that, but it doesn’t read the device.
The mouse is stuck on the lights flashing, bootloader.

If you lot accept a mouse stuck in bootloader mode, it can recover.
ane) Reboot then uninstall and reinstall the lastest version of LGS (8.55.137) without the mouse plugged in.
2) Run the firmware updater manually (default location is C:\Program Files\Logitech Gaming Software\FWUpdate\G502).
3) Plug the mouse in when it says to.
This should solve the issue. If it does not, contact Customer Care and they will work with you toward a resolution.

I tried everything you said and to no avail.
It doesn’t read the device. When I open up FWUpdate the windows just stays at that place and says connect the device. I connect information technology the mouse lights wink merely null happens.
I tried to unplug and plug while the updater is running, didn’t work either.
Did you go into Device Director and uninstall the mouse driver?

Contact customer intendance. If you lot have a retail unit of measurement that will non respond to the firmware updater, it likely needs an RMA.

Yes, nosotros make some prototypes pre-product of every production for exam purposes. These are given to employees and select external testers. There are none ever shipped to retail stores in retail packaging.
With Proteus Core specifically, some older versions of the pre-mass-production bootloader are not compatible with the LGS version of the firmware updater. This only affects people who received a Proteus Core image from Logitech earlier March 2014. It does not affect any retail production. Something dissimilar is happening in this case.

The verbal same matter happened to me.
I had to plug in a second mouse to access the firmware updater (located in program files) and launch it manually as administrator.
Apparently information technology has something to do with virus software or a firewall blocking the update.
The fact that your mouse is notwithstanding blinking (aforementioned affair mine did) makes me think information technology’south just stuck in the update fashion (won’t exist useable until the update completes).
Edit: I should also mention, information technology seems Logitech has some condom mechanisms in place to foreclose yous from bricking the mouse. After the firmware update appeared to freeze on me, I tried unplugging the mouse and restarting the computer. This didn’t crusade whatever permanent impairment (upon plugging the mouse back in, it returned to the same “blinking light and unresponsive cursor” it was in during the firmware update). Information technology appears that the mouse freezes itself in this “firmware update state” until the firmware update is successfully applied to prevent any permanent damage.

I just ran the firmware application seperately again, but this fourth dimension I clicked “Run as Administrator”. It updated the firmware and at present the mouse is working like a charm.
