|
|
I have a Buffalo WZR-1750DHP, merely it seems not working well with Chromecast Ultra, and then I upgraded it with DD-WRT firmware. Before I flash it to DD-WRT, router was running an official Buffalo firmware, version ii.29. It seems this is the latest firmware for WZR-1750DHP. That means you don’t take to downgrade your firmware, I hateful if it works probably likewise works with earlier versions. Then far it seems working well, so this is what I did
(ane) Pull the plug, waiting the router cooling down for about 1 hour.
I don’t remember it is necessary or you have to do, just while I pulled the plug my router was extremely hot. I think you can skip this pace.
(2) Download DD-WRT firmware & official firmware incase something went incorrect.
Downloaded the latest DD-WRT firmware
03-04-2017-r31571.
You can find it from router database, go to
Downloads › betas › 2017 › 03-04-2017-r31571 › buffalo_wzr-1750dhp, download both of them.
Incase something goes incorrect I also downloaded Buffalo’s official firmware 2.29 & 2.03, y’all can observe them on this page.
http://buffalo.jp/download/driver/lan/wzr-1750dhp.html
<- this is the Japanese version, but I call back yous tin also find them from their U.s.a. or EU website too. But nothing went wrong then I did not use them.
Also yous can find the US version Buffalo official DD-WRT firmware from this page if you wanna try it.
http://www.dslreports.com/hardware/Buffalo-WZR-1750DHPD-h4105
(iii) Plug the router in & execute a 30/30/30 reset.
By but hit the Reset button on the bottom of the router for 30 sec, so pull the plug left the device another 30 sec without ability merely still concord the Rest push, terminal plug it back over again but still hold the Residuum push button for another 30 sec. If you have a timer set it to ninety sec so y’all can do it properly. The Rest button for this device is very difficult to hit, because there is a frame effectually the device, so I discover a pencil neb & duct tape it from the acme of this Reset button hole.
(4) Switch the router off & turn it back.
After the 30/xxx/30 reset was executed only just switched it off & turn it back by using the ON/OFF switch.
(5) Upgrade DD-WRT firmware from its web interface.
Use a browser type
http://192.168.11.ane
in login to its web interface. Detect the
Firmware Upgrade
pick, click the “Cull File …” & find the firmware you downloaded at Stride (two).
For the first fourth dimension wink you router choose
factory-to-dd-wrt.bin, execute it & just chill until it is done.
Subsequently the router restarted automatically access
http://192.168.1.1
from your browser if zippo went wrong you volition run across the DD-WRT blueish interface.
*Option
*(6) Wink it again with another firmware.
This time utilize
buffalo-wzr-1750dhp-webflash.bin
upgrade it from DD-WRT’s web interface. You can skip this step I think.
That’s all folks.

Firstly, what is your DL and UL speeds from the ISP?…this volition tell yous if you would get dropped speeds due to just a low bandwidth. Secondly, have yous always tried to prepare upward QoS?….this helps. Thirdly, on that router you can install almost any of the firmware that BS or kong posts here but at that place are some that work better than others, like BS r33006 is a practiced build. Lastly, you tin can also, on the BS and Kong firmware, configure the WIFI for better range and speeds and perhaps your devices will take more than advantage of information technology once it is configured properly.
I am currently using the BS r34008 build on my wzr1750 dhp and dhpd, yep i have both and i accept no issues with that build and how my router is setup.

QoS is proficient to look into. dd-wrt’due south QoS needs an overhaul, but that is another story. I but use QoS global limits and Service Priorities. Make sure to add some bulk (lowest priority) stuff also.
https://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Quality_of_Service
My routers, I don’t ain a Buffalo router, are all currently running 34311 fine.

how-do-you-do ian5142
I got buffalo wzr-1750DHP with firmware 2.29 and did the exact steps given by y’all (including the xxx/30/30) however after I try to upgrade the firmware using r31571 from March 2017 I get message that the firmware is older than 2.27
Even tried to use the latest firmware from dd-wrt.com 37305 dated x-10-2018
but get the aforementioned message about firmware being too old
whatever clues what I could be doing wrong ?

Hello Ian
Deplorable for the delayed reply,
I downgraded the firmware to 2.27 from the link you provided
Inspite of this when I effort to flash with the dd-wrt firmware information technology says that the firmware is older than two.27
I take uploaded screen shot where you can see the message and the current router firmware details
Do buffalo routers accept some sort of check that it does non let dd-wrt firmware to be flashed
regards

That was released a long time ago. It is the 1750 DHPD which does come with a version of ddwrt which is 23709c if i remember from mine.
Also, all newer models of the 1750DHP/DHPD have been glued together making it harder to get to the serial connector inside, so if it is bricked it volition exist a piddling tricky/hard to unbrick.

Yeah, I hate the stupid gluing, broke a case because of it.
