Yes,definitely. If you choose Dreamer in Machine Blazon selection, and then all will be the same as before. In add-on, the firmware has been included in the Flashprint software.

Thanks Jetguy for the respond. They should clearly indicate firmware compatibility or implement firmware cross check with the mainboard version earlier process with installation if they plan not to support the 1st version Dreamer anymore.

Hi,

The firmware of Creator Pro is open up source. The open source community didn’t update the firmware. Then it is not updated on our page.

There’s a problem with the download links to ReplicatorG.  Information technology lists it as being 42Mb compressed, but it is only 7Mb and as far as I tin tell, doesn’t actually include ReplicatorG simply the docs, drivers and examples folders.

You should probably likewise update to the latest available versions from thingiverse, but even declining that, I don’t recollect the download includes what you intended.

To FF,

The latest firmware for the Dreamer has changes to the wifi protocol aimed at improving data transfer robustness. I found the consequence is the opposite as I tin can not successfully transfer any file to the dreamer wirelessly. The file transfer starts at nigh 25 kbps but always fails before it completes the transfer. Previous to this firmware change it would transfer at ~60kbps and was successfull ~90% of the fourth dimension unless it was a huge file. I can connect to the Dreamer w/o problems to monitor my print and access the control console but the impress transfers ever fail.

I recommend revisiting the wifi changes in the firmware as it was not an improvement to my machines wifi operation.

Dear Ivan

I upgraded FlashPrint to version 3.vi yesterday (Ubuntu xiv.04), and too upgraded the firmware from 2.three to 2.4.20150916. Later, Simplify3D ceased to communicate with the Dreamer over USB, although FlashPrint was able to communicate with the printer. I read on a Simplify3D forum (https://forum.simplify3d.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3578) that the problem may be to a change to the USB VID. Anyhow, FlashPrint iii.six wouldn’t allow me to whorl dorsum the firmware to 2.iii, and it was a pain in the arse to uninstall three.6=>find/install an old version of FP=>copy the firmware files to Desktop=>uninstall old FP=>reinstall FP three.6=>re-create/paste the erstwhile firmware files from Desktop to the Firmware/Dreamer folder=>scroll back the firmware, which is now an OLDER version (ii.2), because I couldn’t find a more than contempo version of FlashPrint or the firmware files themselves. Information technology would brand more sense to include the sometime firmware files in the latest version of FlashPrint, at least until S3D and others accost the USB communication event.

Regards,

Merle

Dear Merle,

I have the initial solution to your problem. There are two ways to resolve it.

(1) You can roll back to the old firmware,Y’all demand to put the firmware information to the following path.

(2) You can modify the USB VID. The latest VID goes to 2B71  PID 0001.

I hope these will help you.

Best regards

I accept a mid 2014 ffcp, it’s firmware is perfectly skilful, and does non need whatever updating. And so far the changes listed accept been minor things that don’t effect full general operation. No major new functionality I belive.

Information technology’s a sign of good mature stable software, that information technology is not rapidly changing.

Yeah, I asked this in a previous thread, after reading then many “I just upgraded my firmware and now my xxxx doesn’t yyyy” posts in a row.

Unless you accept a specific issue that the firmware fixes, or a specific feature the firmware adds, leave it lonely.

Out of curiosity.  Is in that location a safest and easiest way to backup firmware prior to update?  Looks like my latest and greatest flashprint offer me to upgrade my firmware to sailfish v7.viii.-pro-20160523 but as well afraid to upgrade without a backup.  Don’t even know what version of firmware I accept and I’m just too afraid that I may F information technology up.  Suggestion delight?

So conspicuously, you lot don’t become information technology. Firmware is no your problem, updating firmware is not your problem. going back a version of firmware is non a problem.

In every case of a problem, it’s the user NOT following all instructions to properly setup the firmware AFTER updating before press.

Over again, recovery to flash a printer is possible, those instructions are posted. Simply, where he user totally jacks this upwards is not understanding the arrangement.

Specific to the Creator series, the firmware is Just the firmware. In other words, when yous wink firmware, you just update the version. The result is, each version of firmware stores settings in a  SEPARATE  retention that is Non updated when you flash firmware. So dorsum to what I said, user updates firmware, doesn’t follow ALL instructions, fails to setup proper settings specific to the NEW firmware loaded, then tries to impress and wonders why they take stupid issues.

Specifically follow these directions and practise not skip the next page about setup.

And the virtually of import steps Before you attempt to print after updating.

The Dreamer serial is a totally dissimilar brute. It has an onboard micro SD  carte du jour that serves every bit a storage place for print files and file transfers. When you update or even just print on a dreamer serial from USB or wifi, you lot are actually sending a complete file that gets stored on this internal micro SD card. For firmware updates, at that place is a system folder on the card and that’s where a copy of the firmware resides. The Dreamer DOES Non run from this copy, it’south purpose is that when the dreamer is kickoff powered on, the boatload checks this for a NEW re-create or version of firmware, IF that exists, information technology checks the file, and so flashes. Somehow it marks that file so it won’t try to reflash the side by side time y’all reboot. Most Dreamer upgrade bug stem from a bad file transfer, or in some cases, units with older motherboards were not uniform past a sure version of firmware.

In all cases, backing upwards firmware is not really viable, not what yous call up it is, not useful, and not the crusade or path to recovery if you did mess up.

Sorry for the tone, but please sympathise the background situation you may not exist enlightened of.

#1 Flash Forge has been using firmware versions labeled Sailfish, simply they are not the same equally the official supported open source version of Sailfish that I linked you documentation to. This creates a HUGE problem for you the user besides equally the community trying to back up and help y’all. You don’t know the difference, Flash Forge is Non documenting the firmware nor providing additional guidance or specific instructions, and there are faults and differences found in the firmware versions shipping on the printer.

As such, when a user similar yourself asks such a question of how to dorsum up firmware go back versions, and other problems, at that place is literally NO support from Flashforge, no instructions, no tools, no technical details. Since the open source community did not develop that exact version shipping, and compiled code on the printer is not source code and thus nobody on the planet but Wink forge could fifty-fifty tell y’all details most the exact source code and settings used.

So with all that, you the user are the i who gets messed over. You see the name sailfish, yous blame sailfish, except your problem is NOT official Sailfish firmware.

This is why I made such a point for you to READ the official firmware documentation, follow ALL instructions there, apply their supplied version of Replicator-Chiliad to update your firmware from OFFICIAL sailfish resources. Why? Because and then you lot get from the great unknown and basically falsely advertised bogus Sailfish version yous would potentially take on your printer now, and or/update to using the FlashPrint tool.

Again, totally your option what y’all want to practice, but understand the ramifications. If you run their firmware, yous go to them for support. If yous run bodily Sailfish, yous have an entire community backside it, a massive manual with full documentation, a known and trusted process and supported versions.

Once again, it’south real shame and really a massive problem that needs exposed. This labeled sailfish version that Flashprint and the printers send with is a farce. We KNOW the code is non matching the open source and supported Sailfish versions because KEY features in the open source version don’t work, the EEPROM settings tabular array is known to not match upwards, and then this causes massive grief to the Sailfish customs of back up because a user says they are running sailfish- only to detect out it’southward non the genuine article.

Jetguy, the instructions say ” If your printer already has Sailfish installed, instead refer to Chapter
7.”. You may desire to add a clarification there what ‘has Sailfish’ means. For example, does a stock FFCP user ‘has Sailfish’ ?
