Didn’t piece of work for me either on Win10. I tin can change whatever of the other fields except for the name of the printer.

Stumbled on to changing the printer name in Windows 10. Become to Printers and Devices from the control Panel and double click the printer you want to change the proper name on. That volition open up a number of options for that printer. Double click the Customize Your Printer option and that will open up printer properties for that printer with the current name highlighted. But enter the new name and yous’re finished.

Right clicking on the printer icon in the “Devices and Printers” command panel did not work for me for my HP printers, but the suggestion from
skyrancher100
to double clicking on the printer icon and and then clicking on “customize your printer” did piece of work, with one footnote. For my HP M551, I could edit the name straight afterward clicking on “Customize My Printer”. However for my HP2025, I had to click on the “Change Properties” button at the bottom left of the dialog box earlier I could change the name. Guess your mileage will vary with dissimilar drivers, even from the same company. But thank you to all who posted aid notes here. I would have never figured this out on my own.

I needed to shut it and then reopen the devices and printer and it worked!!! (although I did demand to add something else to the properties page to have the Apply button work. (I added to the location with the name).
