How-do-you-do IN not sure if you have tried using the manufacturers early driver version (from the Canon site that I visited concluding update was version ane.xi) and use Win x Troubleshoot Compatibility feature.
Using the MP160 ver 1.11 (Win seven/Vista x86 & 64bit) the Win compatibility mode tin can run it as Win Vista SP2 (unfortunately I tin can not test the scanner & printer as I do not have this model, currently I’m using MP280 and this model is included or embedded in the Bone)
If Win Device Manager can detect the printer, how about in Device Director > Imaging Devices if the scanner listed, in Devices & Printer if you right click the printer icon does it accept an pick to Scan (this apply WIA non TWAIN)

Thanks
rjobede
for your respond. It seems in that location are still no software, drivers or firmware for Windows 10 yet. On the Canon dutch site, there’s no trace of that version you mentioned (ver. 1.11). I had to download it from the US site, choosing Windows 7 (64 bit) as OS. I also didn’t have to troubleshoot any compatibility issues. All seems to be working at present.

I am having the aforementioned problem with my Pixma MX700. I take downloaded and installed the driver for viii.i/vii/Vista using the compatibility troubleshooter, only am still unable to scan. I keep getting a popup that says “An error has occurred in the scanner driver. Abort scanning.”

I have but upgraded to Windows 10 from seven.
I get the aforementioned message on my screen when trying to scan from my Canon MX850 to my PC.
Yet if I open the MP Navigator EX1.one app on my calculator I can scan using the app. I’ve checked the canon site and no windows10 navigator update however.
Information technology must be a commuter problem. Whatever ideas?

Merely upgraded from
Windows 8.ane
to
Windows x
on my
ane year one-time HP laptop. Connected my
Canon Pixma MP160
printer and, eventhough information technology seems to be detected past the
Device Manager, it’due south not detected by
Paint
or
Photoshop. Not fifty-fifty by the new
Scan app
on Windows ten.
I have a Canon MP160 and was informed by Canon that they practise not have or intend to make drivers for that printer. So I went and bought a Catechism MP230 which does have drivers available and it works perfectly.

Hello everyone.
I establish a style to apply the Catechism Pixma MP160’s scanner under windows 10 like this:
STEP 1:
and STEP 2:
Equally you can see the Preview is working, and after that when i hitting the browse push, i got my image scanned to the computer in the folder: C:\Users\<my user name>\Pictures\Scans
I hope that this helps until Canon will come up with a ameliorate solution.
If i did something incorrect please have my apologies, information technology is the first time when i post in this community.
I fabricated a shortcut of the printer on the desktop, so when i click on information technology, i see this:
and then i only click on the “Scan Photos and Documents” and i don’t have to go to the Control Panel each time when i want to scan something.
Thank you;
Janos.

Hey,
I got information technology to work perfectly on Windows 10. (MP160)
Step 1: Unplug and turn off the printer
Step two: Uninstall all the drivers
Step 3: Install the Win7 drivers
Stride four: Connect the printer and turn ON
By doing so, you avoid Win10 to install the “wrong” driver.
Then I started to browse normally using “Not some other PDF scanner” software. Uncomplicated software that does the task right.
