This is the device info of my Graphics bill of fare for which i am trying to install driver from the amd website and i get the following fault

Do Non INSTALL the driver from the amd site. i contacted their back up squad and they responded with a reply saying that support for linux is VERY limited. you have a much ameliorate chance at using the open source driver with an updated linux kernel.

i tested ALL the drivers i could find (and mind you they hibernate the linux drivers and make information technology hard to observe) and came to conclusion that at that place are two options for AMD gpu users. the latest commuter they take is
amdgpu-pro-19.10-785425-ubuntu-18.04.tar.xz
what are y’all trying to install?

Exercise Non INSTALL the driver from the amd site. i contacted their support team and they responded with a reply saying that support for linux is VERY limited. you have a much better run a risk at using the open source driver with an updated linux kernel.

amdgpu-pro-19.10-785425-ubuntu-eighteen.04.tar.xz
what are yous trying to install?

I was trying to install: amd-catalyst-15.9-linux-installer-15.201.1151-x86.x86_64 which i abandoned considering i was not getting whatsoever support for information technology .

create a
timeshift
snapshot because subsequently this in that location is no undoing, or hard to get dorsum to where you are, just should work safely. and then run this command from this wiki.
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack

Code:
Select all

                sudo apt-go install --install-recommends linux-generic-hwe-eighteen.04 xserver-xorg-hwe-18.04

the simply bad consequence is that when this kernel has updates the older version is not un-installed so you’ll need to keep an heart on how many kernels you take
