And then… 2 years after… did you lot ever solve your problem. I have an HD4530 in my hp laptop. I cannot get 900×1600 resolution now and information technology looks like crap! so what… now I am supposed to go a new calculator. This is BS!

Hullo.
Just thought I would offer up this information in the hope that it may help.
Recently,
Windows 10
did an automatic update on drivers, and I lost the choice for the
1600×900 resolution
which I also demand.
What I noticed, if I opened my
Device Managing director
(right click on
start menu
and click on Device Managing director) and so double-clicked on
Display Adapters, I got
ATI Radeon Hard disk drive 4300/4500 series
displaying.
If I then right-clicked on this (ATI Radeon HD 4300/4500 series) and then clicked on
Backdrop, information technology was showing
“No Drivers
Installed for this device”
Adjacent, I right-clicked on my
desk-acme
screen
and clicked on
Brandish Settings. In that location was an option to
Brandish Adapter Backdrop. Later clicking on this, it was showing
“Microsoft Basic Display Driver”
and this was up to appointment.
I was dislocated at this point as I am no wizard when it comes to computers. I realised that I had an option here, merely I was besides scared to install or update the
ATI Radeon Hard disk 4300/4500 series
as I thought in that location might be some sort of conflict that would make matters worse.
And then, I contacted support, and this is what solved the issue.
Become back to the
Device Manager(right click onstart menu) and
update the ATI Radeon HD 4300/4500 series
where it gives you that option. The trick is though,
update it to
January 2015 update. Reason being ? AMD does not have a electric current working commuter for this graphics card.
This is what the technician told me.
He did this for me by remote assistance, only it is a simple footstep. What I noticed afterwards too is when I looked back in the
Display Adapter Properties
(through the
desk-top screen), the “Microsoft Basic Display Driver” had gone
and was now showing as
ATI Radeon HD 4300/4500 series.
Oh, and of course, y’all go your 1600×900 resolution back !
Promise this helps. Pitiful if it sounds a scrap “dumbed down” but as I said, I’m no whizz. :0)

This was a large aid…Thanks!
I started having the aforementioned issue with huge stretched screen display after a Nov 27 Windows update..
I simply went into the Device Manager and rolled back the display driver from the one installed on eleven/27/17 (c0317757.inf) to the previous i which worked fine (c7179335.inf – dated i/xiii/2015)..
All is fine now and pages are not skewed extra broad in all my programs anymore.
The old driver has many different resolutions listed as well.

Bones upshot: AMD is no longer updating the commuter for this grade of brandish adapter for Windows ten. So Windows defaults to its “basic” brandish adapter that is shockingly bones for 2017. Flint stuff.
The AMD autodetect app correctly finds you have the latest driver and does cipher else. Unfortunately the latest commuter is seen as incompatible by Win10.
To re-enable the ATI driver you have to roll back to the previous version. The problem I found is that after the recent major Win10 update the “whorl back” option is non bachelor in the driver backdrop:
But if y’all select Update Driver, and then “Browse my calculator for driver software” there is an option “Let me pick from a list of bachelor drivers on this computer”:
And now y’all can select the 2015 version eight.970.100.9001:
And on my machine information technology works properly once more.
I approximate the deplorable truth is that eventually older hardware becomes obsolete. Hopefully those of us with this graphics adapter can proceed chugging for a while longer.
